battleROYAL is again designing and producing two exceptional shows for the stage of the MS Europa 2. Each show cleverly brings together seductive choreographies, astonishing acrobatics, delightful designer costumes and state-of-the-art video projections, each with their own captivating story.
battleROYAL supported renowned Director Nigel Jamieson to create an epic opening to the European Capital of Culture in Denmark. The opening ceremony for Aarhus’ year as European Capital of Culture 2017 took over the entire city and had a development period of twelve months. While the major event was centered around Danish history and thereby also linked to their Viking origins, it also took a very modern approach with a clear focus on community and the future.
Working with a major international brand and long-time collaborators DREINULL, battleROYAL developed an incredible experience for 2000 guests at the Kraftwerk Berlin. In collaboration with renowned Icelandic band GusGus, video pioneers Sila Sveta from Russia and British food scientist Bompas & Parr, the project lead-time was over 10 months and resulted in an extraordinary show experience for the selected guests.
Pina Bausch is recognised as a pioneer of modern dance theatre and as one of the most influential choreographers of the twentieth century. The exhibition is the first to present her work to a wider public. Together with her company, Pina Bausch developed the artistic form of dance theatre which combines theatre, dance and performance art. Her novel approach not only roundly rejected the conventions of classical ballet, but also went far beyond the preoccupations with formal principles that characterise much of modern dance.
battleROYAL is proudly supporting the exhibition with a dedicated stage management and production team. Come visit, the exhibition runs until Jan 2017.
