Down Under meets Swedish woods meets social criticism: Encampment unites the creative power of two continents and raises complex questions of our shady future. Motivated by the effects of the global financial crisis of 2009, Encampment explores the slippery slope of our financial stability and the idea of “sudden poverty”. Within a theatre-concert scenario Encampment combines live music, dance and song. The probing script was the result of a unique collaboration between Brendan Shelper and an exceptional Swedish band.
Encampment is a production of Brendan Shelper in co-production with battleROYAL and the LOFFT Leipzig. Supported by: The City Leipzig, The Kulturamt of City Leipzig, further funding by: The Kulturstiftung Sachsen, the Kulturstiftung Liechtenstein and the Guido Feger Stiftung.
